finally, a winter like the old days (picture heavy)

daytime temperatures have been hovering
between -8 C to  -3 C
nighttime temps between -7 C to -12 C

a few days of snow,
and we have banks around here,
like we haven't had for years

out in the field,
the snow is up to the bottom wire
on the cattle fence..

which is about knee-high on me
glad Ron had plowed,
otherwise it would have been hard tramping
through the snow
without snowshoes

our winter wood pile is getting smaller

having the trail plowed
makes it easier for Hayley to run around as well

Charlie is getting blocked in by snowbanks this year haha
he's in the middle of the picture ...

it is great to see all this snow!
I grew up with this amount of snow being
"normal" for our winters..
sadly, snow amounts like this
are not the "normal" winters anymore

over by the henhouse
Tyler shovelled out a cave

Ron plowing the driveway

somewhere in the middle of the picture
 under all this snow,
 is our firepit,
normally we can see the tops of the rocks,
that make the circle of the pit..
not this year.. no rocks in sight

last year,
ALL of our snow was gone by March 16
(even all the snow in the bush)

going to keep tabs on how fast/slow
the snow melts this year ...
