first rhubarb harvest

our first harvest of rhubarb

from the smaller garden..

 

and, as I've done for years,

 this gets divided up between

 

Ron's Aunt Vera,

and Annaliese (a friend from church)

 

 

 

I will harvest the first batch (for us)

from the second garden tomorrow..

which will get canned into rhubarb sauce

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



ready for winter again...

well..

ready , as in...

 

our firewood is ready for winter to hit us again

 

the small pile,

on the left,

is the leftover wood from last season..

we started with 11 skids of wood,

and only used 7..

so we have 4 skids

of really dry firewood

to begin this winter with..

 

as of today,

there are

12 skids of wood,

drying..

 

 

 

again, last years wood

 is the small pile in front,

this years fresh cut/split, and piled wood

 is in the back

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



apple trees

our apple trees are in full blossom

 

all 16 of them!

 

 

 

 

 

 

the past 3 nights,

we have had mild frost and/or snow..

 

and we have 2 more nights

where the temps are forecasted to be

around 2 C...

 

so far the frost has not damaged the blossoms..
